The Rest Is All Love
"Through love bitter becomes sweet; through love cloudy waters become pure; through love pain finds remedy, kings become slaves."
In another place: "Don't remain loveless or you'll be dead. Die in love so you'll remain alive." Throughout his life Mevlana Rumi held the love that matured and refined people essential; in his book the Masnavı which teaches us through unlimited tolerance to be good, charitable, patient and serene, and not to become imprisoned by anger and violence, to be merciful and forgiving.
Rumi says, "Through love bitter becomes sweet; through love cloudy waters become pure; through love pain finds remedy, kings become slaves."
Nobody in the world has ever been nourished on love as much as he was; nobody ever spoke words of love as much as he did...That Lord of lovers was a great Lover of the Divine. He reaches perfection and immortality in love. In his works he left humanity the realities of endless love (Divan and Quatrains), discourses (Fıhı Mafıh and Macalis-i Saba) and perfection (Masnavi).
He says this of love: "Love came and became the blood in my veins; it emptied me of my 'self' and filled me with love. All that remains of me is a name; the rest is all love..."(to be continued)
