The Exalted Mevlana Rumi
Even though a candle knows it is melting away it doesn't hesitate to spread its light around.
Many great thinkers, countless saints and lovers of the Divine have come and gone. None ever raised Man to such heights or spoke as openly as the Exalted Mevlana Rumi. Only he revealed how sublime man is in the eyes of God. It isn't possible to find another who spoke as deeply of love and Divine Love or who offered these to all people. The Exalted Mevlana Rumi is a monument of humility from head to toe; he is a light of edification not only to his own period but to all times and places. As the thinking mind and feeling heart of all humanity he is the way of love and peace. According to Rumi, love is, "the strongest link in the chain binding people to life, and the ladder that will carry people to the Creator". Mevlana, who burned with human and Divine Love, wants people to serve and be useful to others, even to their last breath. And he said this, "Even though a candle knows it is melting away it doesn't hesitate to spread its light around. Hey human, you who are full of Power of the Creator, why do you hold back?" Every word from Mevlana's mouth, his every action is full of unity and brotherhood. He addresses all humankind.
