The Divine Jealousy

Sultan Walad told us:
One day, Shaikh Salahuddin said to my father, “Within my body there were sources of hidden lights, and I wasn’t aware of it. You have helped open my eyes, so that I now see these lights which dance beforme mye eyes like the sea.”
One day, my father said, “Don’t mention Mevlana Shamsuddin in the presence of Shaikh Salahuddin, nor Salahuddin in the presence of Chelebi Husamuddin. Although there is complete union between their lights and no differences, divine jealousy is at work, and it is not wise to excite it; to avoid doing so is the courtesy (adab) of the Friends.”
